Santana DGPs |
Data Gathering PanelsSantana DGPs are general purpose Data Gathering Panels for collection, distribution and control of discrete digital signals (alarms, faults, status signals, controls). They use multiplexing techniques to cost-effectively carry multiple signals over a single communications cable. They can be used in any application requiring transmission of discrete digital signals:
These units are available in several formats (ie. different input and output quantities) and can be supplied as standalone units enclosed in metal cabinets with or without power supplies) or as modules only (circuit boards) for integration into OEM systems. DGPs AvailableH-Type DGPThis model is designed to meet the specific demand for a 16 input and 8 output unit, working through a single communications link.
H-Type DGP - Fixed 16 Inputs / 8 Outputs
X-Type DGPThis model incorporates the latest multiplexing technology, providing up to 24 inputs and 24 outputs. All can be used simultaneously working through a single communications link. All inputs and outputs can be selected at site without programming or modification, providing total flexibility to the installer.
X-Type DGP - Fixed 24 Inputs / 24 Outputs
Customized DGPsDGPs can be made to order to handle 24, 48, 72 (or more) discrete digital signal transmissions.
A number of boxed options are available, with or without PSUs
Alarm ManagementOne of the more common applications for the Santana DGPs is in Alarm Management. A Santana 900 Series Management Terminal (eg. Santana Pro) is incorporated into the multi-point circuit, providing a number of additional functions :

ApplicationsPoint-to-Point TransmissionsIn its simplest form inputs/outputs received at one location by one X-Type DGP produce corresponding outputs/inputs via a second X-Type DGP at a different location (and vice versa) using a single 2 or 4 wire communication cable between the two. Using standard models, up to 24 discrete signals can be handled simultaneously (in either direction) by a single pair of DGPs using a 2 or 4 wire communication cable on a two-way basis. Up to 72 discrete signals can be handled simultaneously (in either direction) by using three pairs of DGPs.
Multi-Point TransmissionsFor Multi-Point requirements, it is possible to use up to 16 Santana DGPs, distributed throughout a building. All are connected by a single twisted pair cable to a Control Module, enabling each DGP to manage up to 24 inputs/outputs. The Control Module provides a limited automated response program (“Cause and Effect”) controlling the inputs and outputs on the DGPs.
Mimics & Repeater ApplicationsA variation of the multipoint transmission is where a large quantity of signals (alarms, faults, status etc.) are extracted from an intelligent panel (such as a multi-loop addressable analogue fire panel) through a Santana Translator/ Controller module and then distributed to DGPs to drive mimics, repeaters etc. The number of DGPs and the total number of inputs and outputs on the system will be dependent on the type of panel and Translator/Controller used.
